Mental Health Monday #3: Mastery & Self-Soothe
Goodbye weekend, hello Monday.
This week I decided to keep it simple with a quick tip that I love. This is a little daily exercise to lift your self-esteem and give you the confidence to accomplish your short-term goals.
Each day, set yourself one goal and one relaxing or fun activity. Your goal is your mastery and your activity is your self-soothing for the day.
Your mastery doesn't have to be a huge goal. Maybe you just have one errand that really needs to get done; that can be your mastery for the day. Self-soothing is pretty simple as well. Put on your favorite TV series or play some music that you really enjoy. Anything that you like to do can be your self-soothing activity.
Balancing out your have-to-dos with your want-to-dos can avoid getting too stressed or burnt out.
So I challenge you to allow yourself some relaxation even on your most hectic days. Hope your week is full of masteries and self-soothing relaxation!
